We all love to read about the struggles of others. Not in a sadistic evil way, but in a way that lets us know that we are not alone. A way that helps us glimpse into the reality of others that we may not know otherwise.
I heard the other mother say to her son ‘Look at that little girl! She isn’t scared of the water. Why can’t you be like her?’ My heart sank. The look on the boy’s face displayed a wide range of emotion from embarrassment to continued fear of the water. I could see those words echoing in his head, making him feel less as he was compared to my little girl.
Before I was married, I had a vision of what marriage would be like. There was definitely a lot of fluff in my visions of marriage and to be honest, there was a lot of unrealistic junk.
I have never had a fight with my husband. I know what you are thinking. ‘You must live in some fairy tale romance that doesn’t exist. You have got to be kidding yourself! That is crazy!’ Don’t worry, I get those responses a lot. Contrary to popular opinion, I do NOT live in some fairy tale romance, I am NOT kidding myself, and maybe it is not as crazy as it initially sounds.
